This article covers the factors that are beyond your control.

Placenta

The placenta provides oxygen and nutrients to your baby while inside the womb. It forms inside your uterus when you become pregnant and attaches either in the front of the uterine wall or in the back. If your placenta is attached in the front, it may cover part of your baby’s face. We recommend that women carrying one baby have their 3D/4D ultrasound and/or 5D/HD LIVE ultrasound session between the 26th – 32nd weeks. Having Twins? It is recommended to come earlier between your 22nd – 24th week in pregnancy when the babies can more easily move into better positions for imaging.  

Your Baby’s Position in the Womb

The position of your baby in the womb plays a significant role in obtaining clear 3D/4D ultrasound and HD LIVE ultrasound images. If your baby’s face is pointed toward your spine or if your baby is in a breach position, it will be more challenging to obtain clear 3D/4D ultrasound and HD LIVE ultrasound images. The ideal position for imaging is when your baby is facing head down near your cervix.
